Understanding changes everything.

I believe meaningful change often begins with understanding.

Many of the thoughts, behaviors, emotional responses, and relationship patterns that people struggle with did not appear without reason. They developed somewhere, at some point, in response to experiences, relationships, environments, expectations, or needs. What may feel confusing or frustrating now may have once made perfect sense.

My work is centered on helping people understand those connections.

Rather than approaching therapy as a process of simply identifying what is “wrong” and trying to correct it, I work collaboratively with clients to explore their experiences with curiosity. Together, we look at how the past may be showing up in the present, what patterns have developed along the way, and which parts of those patterns still serve them, and which no longer do.

My Approach
My style is conversational, collaborative, and highly individualized. I tend to ask a lot of questions, not because I am looking for a particular answer, but because the right question can sometimes open a door that advice cannot.

My clinical approach is integrative, drawing from psychodynamic therapy, cognitive and behavioral approaches, ACT, DBT-informed skills, motivational interviewing, parts-oriented work, attachment theory, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based approaches when appropriate.

But I do not believe therapy should feel like a collection of techniques being performed on a person.

The relationship matters. Context matters. Meaning matters.

I want clients to understand not only what they experience, but why it makes sense that they experience it. From there, we can decide together what, if anything, they would like to change.

Areas of Clinical Interest
I particularly enjoy working with adults who are exploring:

  • Trauma and complex trauma

  • Identity and self-understanding

  • Anxiety and depression

  • ADHD and neurodivergence

  • Relationship and attachment patterns

  • Religious or spiritual experiences

  • Grief and significant life transitions

  • Self-worth, boundaries, and people-pleasing

  • Patterns that are difficult to understand or change

  • Questions of meaning, purpose, and personal alignment

I also enjoy working with people who may not have a perfectly defined reason for seeking therapy. Sometimes therapy begins simply with the sense that something isn’t quite fitting anymore.

That is enough of a place to start.

Beyond Traditional Weekly Therapy
For some people, a traditional 50–60 minute session provides exactly the right amount of time and space.

Others find themselves wanting more room to explore.

I also offer Personal Discovery Intensives, extended individual sessions designed to provide additional time for focused exploration without having to stop simply because the traditional therapy hour has ended.

Intensives may be particularly useful for people who want to explore a specific experience, recurring pattern, relationship, life transition, or question in greater depth.

Professional Background
Before becoming a mental health counselor, I worked in both education and pharmacy. Those experiences continue to influence how I understand people and the systems in which they live.

I hold a Master of Education and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arkansas. My continuing professional education has included specialized training in trauma and grief, ADHD, Autism, postpartum depression, behavioral addictions, and telehealth, along with continued study across a range of therapeutic approaches.

As part of Crestview Psychological Testing and Therapy Center, I also have the benefit of working alongside clinicians with diverse specialties and access to psychological testing and referral resources when a client’s needs extend beyond my areas of practice.

One Conversation at a Time

I don’t believe the goal of therapy is to become an entirely different person.

Often, it is to understand yourself well enough that you can begin living more intentionally as the person who was there all along.

Sometimes, one new understanding changes a relationship.

Sometimes one question changes the way you understand your history.

And sometimes one conversation changes everything.

That is where we begin.
